The medicine of the future is already here. It is up to us to choose it

This volume proposes a perspective integrated with the traditional view of ADHD, moving beyond the logic of diagnosis alone to embrace a paradigm of integrated and systemic medicine that involves the whole person in their unique mind-body unity.

ADHD is no longer interpreted as a simple summation of behavioral symptoms, such as inattention and hyperactivity, but as a dynamic neurobiological framework shaped over time through the interaction of genetics, biology, environment, microclimate, nutrition, lifestyle, and personal and family history.

Factors such as early dysbiosis, maternal stress, infections, and environmental exposures act as biological signals that shape a hyper-reactive and poorly modulable nervous system.

ADHD thus emerges on a terrain of physiological and functional vulnerability, where the dialogue between gut and brain is altered. Adopting the Systems Clinic approach, this work highlights how the gut is a core neuroendocrine and immune structure; therefore, gastrointestinal, sleep, and emotional regulation disorders are not collateral events, but chapters of a single pathophysiological story.

The proposed revolution also links to pharmacology, yet integrates everything into a baseline therapy. This includes targeted nutrition, microbiota modulation, and attention to endocrine disruptors, alongside neurophysiological tools such as mindfulness – specifically the «Sense ADHD» Protocol – autogenic training, and other protocols specifically patented by our team to promote neuronal plasticity, interoception, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, and a solid daily cognitive training that «reprograms» mind-body well-being within everyday lifestyle.

Through scientific rigor and the telling of real-life stories, the book transforms ADHD into an approachable, manageable, and familiar path of growth, while overcoming the long waiting times for diagnosis and care. The final message is an invitation to clinical responsibility: treatment does not consist in isolating a symptom, but in rebuilding a complex regulation that holds body, mind, and environment together in a shared, multidisciplinary care process based on prevention, 360-degree support, and integrated multidisciplinary teamwork.
